Scammers Post Fake Wallets to Book Customers

Scammers are said to be shipping fake device wallets to Ledger customers to steal their private seeds. According to Reddit user statements, he received a package sent by Ledger with a read-looking Ledger Nano X. The package also contained a letter that said their current wallet was compromised. This letter emphasized that the user needs to replace his current wallet with the new one. It declared:

For security purposes, we’ve sent you a new device that you need to switch to a new device to stay safe. There is a manual inside your new box that you can read to learn how to set up your new device.

The package reportedly included instructions on setting up the new cryptocurrency with the private key. However, after further inspection, the hardware wallet sent was a modified version of the original Nano X. Also this modified wallet contained a series of different links inside the device.

This seems to be simply a flash drive attached to the Ledger for the purpose of being some sort of malware delivery.
